Repostioning Ourselves

In my last blog post, The State Of The Church, I discussed how God is not pleased with the current state that the church is in. As I was lying in bed I heard God say that we needed to reposition ourselves. Then I asked what God meant by that, what did He mean by repositioning ourselves? Of course we know that the church is completely out of order. We have men and women who have taken on titles and positions that God has not called them to. Today, we have men and women that are no longer pushing God but pushing their own agendas. Among the men and women of God there are those who hold this attitude that they are untouchable. Now, it is no longer about serving God, but rather about putting themselves above God. The goal is no longer to save souls, but rather to benefit themselves.

It is no longer about glorifying God but it is about the praise that they themselves receive. There have been too many instances where people refer to it as "my anointing." It is not your anointing, but God's anointing. Who called you? Who anointed you? If you are truly anointed it is because God anointed you and it is the anointing of the Holy Ghost. It seems like there are so many people talking about "their gifts" as if they have forgotten that it is a God-given gift. A God given gift that was to be used to bring honor, glory and praise unto Him. It is to be used for the edification of His kingdom. You are perverting His gifts, you are perverting His anointing. It's no longer about Him, but about the adulation you receive from men. Then on top of that you want to be paid for what God has given you.

In which part of the Bible do you find them charging people for their God given gifts, for the anointing they were blessed with? Any work we do that advances the kingdom of God should be free of charge. You want to be paid $5,000 and flown first class in order for you to come and preach God's Word. You want to be paid $600 to come and sing two songs. You have perverted what God has given you.

I am reminded of the scripture

Psalm 37: 25

I have been young, and now am old; yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken, nor His seed begging bread.

Let me be clear, I am not against giving. I am a giver and I give freely. So what do we need to do now? We need to get back to the altar and do our first works over. Our hearts and minds need to be purified, so let's go back to the altar and ask God to help us. That He will help us to remember what it is all about. God didn't just save us for ourselves but He saved us to be a help to somebody else. I have to believe that if we stand up for righteousness and live Holy before Him that He will provide our every need.

Luke 18:10-14

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not like as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much his eyes unto heaven, but smote his breast, saying, God be mericful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Jesus tells us in this parable that the sinner man's prayer was more acceptable. We must humble ourselves. There will be plenty of men and women with titles in front of their names in hell. Can we just keep it real for a moment? Simply because we have lost focus on what our main goal is.

In Luke 18 we find the Rich Man

Luke 18:22-25

Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. And when Jesus saw that the man was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Mark 8:36

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?.

We may not sin willfully, but we will never outgrow the altar. Personally, I ask God to cleanse me of anything and everything that is within me that is not like Him. It is possible to speak with the wrong tone or the wrong attitude. The Bible tells us in

Galatians 5:9

A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

We may have things in us that we thought were gone. There may be grudges that we are holding onto that we thought we were released from. We are told in the Bible that we are to repent daily; there is always room for improvement in our relationship with Christ. We need to get back to the ways of old with fasting and prayer. We must continue to build and maintain our relationship with God.

The only way for us to see a true move of God is to reposition ourselves. We have to get this thing in order. We see what is going on today in the world. However, there are people walking around like nothing is happening. I'm here to tell you that we haven't seen anything yet. The only way we are going to be able to stand is with God. He is our hope, He is our refuge. We must reposition ourselves and humble ourselves before the Lord.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Luke 18:16-17

But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein. That is how we have to come before the Lord, as little children. He is our Father, coming to Him meek and humble. Father help us, forgive us, teach us Your ways. So that we can be what You would have us to be in this day and hour. So that we can reach the souls that you have commissioned unto us.

2 Chronicles 7:14

if my people, which are called by name, shall humble themselves; and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

On this day, I leave you with this question: What position are you in? Remember that God loves you and so do I with the love of Christ.
