A few days ago I came across a video that said we couldn't be free from sin. Jesus is the only one that is free from sin. Yes Jesus was born free from sin however we can be made free from sin as well. It is a lie from the pits of hell that you can’t be set free. I told them that whom God sets free is free indeed. Their response was that we are not free from sin, we are free from eternal damnation. Sometimes I really wonder what Bible people are reading. I continued to tell them to go study the Word, they said that Jesus died for them and that they are still a sinner. Everyone is a sinner, no one is made free from sin. So my response was that same Jesus told the woman caught in adultery to go and sin no more. Why would He tell her that if she couldn’t do it, was Jesus lying. Are you calling Jesus a liar? I continued giving her scripture and of course she never responded back.
If you’re not new here you have heard me quote Romans 6: 1-18 multiple times. As always I encourage you to go read and study for yourself. Even so I am going to summarize it. Paul is telling us that when we were baptized into Christ we were baptized into His death and resurrection. Versus 1-2 what shall we say then shall we continue in sin that Grace may abound God forbid how shall we that are dead to sin live any longer there in. Verse 4 we should walk in the newness of life. Verse 6 we should not serve sin so if we were dead like Christ we are dead unto sin. Verse 7 we are freed from sin. Verses 12-18 let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body that ye should obey it in the lust thereof. neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield unto God as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God, for sin shall not have dominion over you, meaning you no longer have to be bound by sin, for you are not under the law, but under grace what shall we say then because we are not under the law but under grace God forbid, Know you not that whom you yield yourselves servants to obey his servants, are you to whom you obey. whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness But God be thanked that you were the servants of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you being made free from sin, you became the servants of righteousness. Verse 20 when you were the servants of sin you were free from righteousness. Verse 21 for the end of those things is death How can you be free from eternal damnation if you are still living a life of sin? Verse 22 Now being made free from sin you are the servants of God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. This is the only way to be free from eternal damnation Verse 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Verse 16 it says Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
Matthew 6:24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Revelations 3: 15-16
God’s Word is plain: you can’t serve God and Satan at the same time. You have to love one and hate the other. There is no twixt inbetween, God said that if you are lukewarm that He will spew you from His mouth. That means He will spit you out.
Hebrew 10:1-31
Under the laws of Moses, they offered sacrifices for sin. Verse 4 for it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. They had to repeatedly make those sacrifices. Versus 10-12 tells us that we are sanctified through the offering of Jesus Christ. Jesus only had to die once meaning sacrifice unto sin, and He sat down on the right hand of God. The priest repeatedly ministering and offering the same sacrifices could not take away sin. However Jesus through that one sacrifice was able to take away our sins. Verses 26-31 for if we sin willfully after that, we have received the knowledge of the truth. They remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, does it say a free pass from eternal damnation? No it says, but a certain fearful, looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and have counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified an unholy thing, and hath done so unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, the Lord shall judge His people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
This once saved always saved is false doctrine. People love to say Jesus died for their sins so that is their reason to continue in sin. However the Word of God tells us that when you continue to do so you have counted His blood as an unholy thing. There remains no more sacrifice for sin. Yet you can look forward to being judged by God. So much for that we are free from eternal damnation even though we continue to live a lifestyle of sin.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Know ye not that the unrighteousness shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Revelations 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and the murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolater, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
1 John 1:5-10
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. There are those that walk around as if they have never done anything. They have never sinned but the Word says that we were shaped in iniquity. If we say that we have not sinned then we are deceived. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. We all have sinned and the Word is telling us to confess our sins and that God is just and faithful that He will forgive us but you first have to admit it. God says that He will clean us up.
Jesus told us so in the parable used in Matthew 12:43-45 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
So how do we keep our houses clean? Through the spirit of God which is the Holy Ghost that will dwell inside of us once we have received it. I know that you may feel as if I have bombarded you with scripture after scripture. Even so I must tell you what the Word of God says. The lies and the deception are too great. God has not and will not ever tolerate sin. Jesus preached repentance and to turn from sin. The prophets of old preached repentance and to turn from your evil ways. The Apostles continued to preach repentance and to come out of sin. Why do you think Paul wrote the letters to Corinth, telling them to come out of their sins? The churches in the book of Revelations when God told them that I still have something against you, that was sin. Sin stinks in God’s nostrils but not all is lost. You can still be made free, you can still be made whole.
Don’t let the devil deceive you, he wants you bound, he doesn’t want you to be free. God is a deliverer, He has given us a way out. All it takes is a made up mind. He did it for me, He set me free, God delivered me. Only if you truly knew my story then you would know that it was nobody but God. There was nothing so special about me that He would do it for me and not for you. The testimonies of many others of God’s deliverance should give you hope. To the sinner man come to God, the prostitute, drug addict, drunkard, fornicator, backslider, adulterer, homosexual, liar, whatever it is that makes you feel unworthy. There is still room at the cross for you. I didn’t come here to be famous to make a name for myself, I came here to reach souls and lead them back to Christ. Guess what, somebody had to reach me, somebody had to tell me about my sins. Somebody had to let me know that I too could be delivered. No I’m not saying that I am perfect but the things I used to do I don’t do anymore. Some of it was overnight and some of it was a process. God will teach you if you let Him, and He will keep you if you want to be kept. God is waiting for you with open arms, it’s not His will that any of us should perish. You just have to choose Him, in the beginning will it be easy no. Satan is going to fight you every step of the way because he doesn’t want to let you go. Still the more time you spend with God, fasting and praying, studying His Word the more God will strengthen you. It is a promise that I have no problem making because God has done it for me. Run to Him while you still have time. Run to Him while the doors are still open, He will receive you with open arms. Before I let you go I do want to leave you with two more scriptures
Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2 Corinthians 5: 17
Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things become new.
Remember that God loves you and so do I with the love of Christ.
