Falling for the Hype

You may be thinking about what I am saying. What does she mean by that? Well, I mean falling for what we have been taught to believe to be the anointing of God. When, in fact, it was quite the opposite. We have failed to realize that much of this is simply a game and a gimmick. It is evident that these individuals are capable of hyping up a crowd. To put it another way, they know how to put on a show. Let me make it clear that this does not apply to everyone.

I can provide an example from my own experience. Now, I do not consider myself to be a singer, but I would be willing to assist with praise and worship. There was a bishop who came up to me and whispered in my ear. Not to let them sit down, but to prime them up. Have you ever seen a rap performance? It is common for them to have hype men. It is their job to energize the crowd. In addition, they contribute to the performance's energy. Therefore, if you are familiar with me, then you are aware that's not who I am. My nature is reserved and quiet. I'm not Flava Flav. It is not something that I am skilled at. They know how to hit the right key. They know how to hit the right note. In order to make you feel that the anointing of God is there, they know exactly what to do and when to do it.

Over the past several years, my eyes have really opened up. My sister and I visited this church. It had been years since we had attended a service of that nature. We were called up by the apostle and he told us some things. As a result, we told our mother about it and how much we enjoyed it. She eventually attended. We attended this revival, which they ended up holding. There was a young man in a wheelchair. The apostle asked the congregation if they were familiar with him before he prayed for him. There was one man who turned around and scanned the crowd as if he was making sure no one recognized him. That struck my mom and I as odd.

The apostle prays for the young man, and the young man gets up and walks. My goodness, the church is on fire. The man is a miracle. He has been healed by God and can now walk. The people shouted, then they cried. I thought to myself that this must be God since this young woman was crying. She never displayed any emotion. She always appeared to be mad. It is not my intention to suggest that she was mean. It was just the way she looked. It was obvious that God was involved in this situation since she was crying.

As a result, rumors began spreading on Facebook that the young man was known for doing this. He goes from church to church doing this fake miracle. Due to the fact that my mother and I were new to town, we did not know anyone. However, we began to hear rumors. We were told this part of the story, but it is alleged. We were not present. If I am being honest, I have no doubt that it is true. One of the apostle's ministers confronted him about the man who orchestrated the fake miracle. Remember that guy I mentioned earlier who was scanning the crowd to ensure no one recognized him? He was the person in question. It was set up by him. As a result, the apostle did nothing to address the situation. The majority of his members left the church because of it. We showed up for service and half the members were gone.

We are hearing all of these things, so I decided to speak with the apostle and the First Lady. I informed them that I was hearing that the man was able to walk. This was something he was known for doing. In an attempt to smooth over the situation, they said, "Well, he can walk with crutches, but not alone.". After telling my mother what they said, she immediately stated that they were lying. The same night after church, I stopped at Walmart. Who emerges from the store? The same young man is accompanied by his wife and another lady. Informing my mother that I am about to park, I pulled out my phone and began recording.

We observed him riding in one of those carts. After his wife got into the truck, the lady got into the truck, leaving the young man alone out there in the parking lot. After exiting the cart, he walked to the truck, got in, and drove away. No assistance, no crutches, nothing. In my opinion, it is clear that he is unable to walk long distances, which is why he is riding in the cart. As a result, I sent the video to the first lady as proof that they lied and he lied as well. However, she did not respond. This is not even the worst incident that has occurred at this church. If you are wondering, yes I still have the video.

Everyone there that night thought that it was a move of God. We have been trained and conditioned to go off of emotions. This is where discerment and knowing the fruits kick in.

Matthew 24:24.
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect

They can do all of these things, but it does not mean it's of God.

Isaiah 10:27
And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing

It is the anointing that breaks the yoke. Feelings should not be the only thing we have. There should be deliverance, healing, and miracles. It should serve to edify the Kingdom of God. It is not about glorifying the person, but about glorifying God. People often make the mistake of talking about their anointing. It is not your anointing, but God's. Several of these things that we believe to be from God are in fact not from God, and we need to learn the difference. It has nothing to do with God.

Matthew 7. 15 through 23.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven

Remember that God loves you, and so do I with the love of Christ.
